Chocolate Lae'zel, take 2
My first attempt at this run ended, um, badly for our heroine.
This second run feels very different so far. A good reminder of just how many paths through this game there are.
Much of that is down to the luck of the dice: this run she succeeded at opening the crypt door (natural 20!) rather than failing (despite Astral Knowledge!).
She got through and met Withers, then up the ladder and encountered Gimblebock's crew at the abandoned ruins. They're dead, of course, thanks to the Githyanki dialogue options.
Damays and Nymessa are dead too, but it must have been goblins. A special feature of a Lae'zel origin run.
The grove fight was exhilarating, of course, since she's not one to shy away from battle. She's seen Wyll in action, but not met him yet.
She immediately sought high ground, passing several Tieflings and killing the bugbear assassin. Through the telescope she sees (but does not remark upon!?) a dragon, doubtless with rider. Maybe if she'd passed the focussing skill check there would have been more commentary.
So she immediately left the grove, heading north-west, in search of her kin — and a crèche.
Aside: I read a thread where people were laughing that crèche means kindergarten in French. When playing, did they not notice the hatchery and all the annoying youths being trained in the monastery? It's kindergarten with swords in there.
