Falling Upward

Summon Help (git gud at life)

Any time you do work yourself, you've chosen not to use the services of someone who's probably better at it than you are.
—Seth Godin

Doing great work is hard enough, why make it any harder? Each of us is good at something, usually something that we don't value because it's easier for us, or more obvious, or whatever.

Being human, we value the things that we find hard to do ourselves, and often fall into the trap of thinking we need to get good at those hard things.

Instead, surround yourself with people who find the hard (for you) things easy and who value the easy (for you) things that they struggle with.

Rather than struggling to master the things that we personally find hard, spend just enough time to understand those areas — in order to evaluate the efforts of others.

Being able to ask good questions about their area will help integrate it into your own work, and also help take the kinks out of their thinking and force them to bring their best selves.
